About Page

Bonnie Czegledi is a Canadian multi-media visual artist and watercolourist. Inspired by the beauty of natural ​landscapes, the interplay of colours and light, and the enchanting melodies of lyrical music, her vibrant works capture ​the essence of joy and happiness.

In addition, she is also an author (e.g. Crimes Against Art: International Art and Cultural Heritage Law, Thomson ​Reuters, which deals with importance of the recovery of stolen art), a lecturer, impassioned art advocate and ​International Art and Cultural Heritage lawyer. Her abstracts and vibrant watercolours have been shown in Canada and ​Europe and featured in architectural magazines.

An example of one of her works of art is “Blue Eyes” (Acrylic and gold leaf on carved wood, 50”x50”), which illustrates an ​intermingling of all her inspirations. The beautiful steel blue colour was created on her own palate evoking the colour ​of her son’s eyes when they were born before they turned a gorgeous dark brown. The work also draws on her ​memories of the summer night sky of the Southwest of France, while living there and her childhood memories of ​summers on the farm in rural Southern Ontario.

Ephemera also plays an important role Czegledi’s abstract paintings. Ephemera are collectable items not meant to have ​lasting value. She incorporates personal ephemera and objets trouvés into her work turning them into art that has true ​and everlasting meaning.
